Fish Bites

Very easy to make gluten free fish bites. Frozen or fresh fish works here. These are great as an entree or a snack. Can be prepared earlier and reheated when needed.

I always use wild caught fish. It is often mahi-mahi (in this case), cod, flounder, pollack.

Fish is great for your heart, brain, eyes. It is anti-inflammatory and great source of protein.

It is loaded with omega-3s, B vitamins, selenium, iodine and many other essential vitamins and minerals.

Fish Bites

Ingredients

  • 1 lbs fish
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup almond flour
  • 2 tbsps arrowroot flour
  • salt, pepper, paprika, Italian seasoning, curcumin any seasoning you may like to add
  • 4 tbs coconut oil or use ghee, tallow or avocado oil

Method

  1. Cut the fish in bite size pieces.
  2. Whisk together egg and seasoning in a bowl.
  3. Combine almond and arrowroot flours in a bowl.
  4. Mix in the fish pieces in the egg/seasoning mixture.
  5. Heat a skillet over medium high and add oil of your choice.
  6. Dip the fish from the egg mixture into the flour mixture (breading) and make sure it is well coated.
  7. Fry the fish about 2-3 minutes on each side.

Notes

The fish bites go great with ketchup (my kids favorite) or tartar sauce.
Paired with sauerkraut and mashed potatoes, they make a nutritious dinner idea.
