Turmeric Paste (Golden Milk)

Turmeric has a long list of health benefits. Some of the top ones include: antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, anti-microbial and anti-septic. It improves brain function, improves digestion, helps heal your gut, relax your blood vessels and lower blood pressure. It even may help treat and prevent cancer.

Turmeric Paste

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger minced or graded / optional
  • 1 tbs ground cinnamon can use cinnamon stick / optional
  • 1 tsp pepper freshly ground is the best
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/4 cup coconut oil

Instructions

  • Mix all the ingredients in a small saucepan and bring to a gentle simmer.
  • Whisk to combine and cook until it forms a paste and coconut oil is fully melted.
  • Simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Transfer to a glass jar with a lid. Let it cool to room temperature and store in the fridge up to 2 weeks.

Notes

You can make turmeric golden milk out of the paste.
When ready to make it, place a teaspoon of turmeric paste in a mug and add in hot milk of your choice. I like to add half milk, half boiling water.
Optionally, add in maple syrup or honey for sweetness. Give it a stir and enjoy.
